Haute Route meaning High Route is historic trade route in between Chamonix, Zermatt and areas around. Back in a days it was not taken thru high mountains and mountain cols.
This breathe taking experience is recommended now days. Route is not only one certain route, but possibilities are multiple in between these famous Alpine villages. Weather and conditions do affect to selected route as well as group it self.
Route start from Chamonix you either run from Aiguille du Midi 3800m via glacier to Sky Way Monte Bianco Italy 3462m. In Italy you will continue on quite and nice trails to Gd-St-Bernard monastery. This monastery got history at early 1000 - century and is famous from same breed dog who where trained by monks to first avalanche rescue dog in a world. Here on route will follow so called Purist route south side of Grand Combin 4186m and on the most biggest glaciers on Alps, via nearly 4000m high mountain tops to Zermatt.
This trip is one of the kind. It is rare to have access to run on high mountain tops and glaciers with trained mountain guide. This takes your running from trails to glaciers with crampons, technical mountain cols with ropes and climbing harnesses, you will end up to nearly 4000m mountain top to have look down to green valleys just run down to meadows.

Chamonix Zermatt Haute Route.
Depending on weather you will cross one of the highest glaciers around from Aiguille du Midi to Sky Way Monte Bianco. Following grassy ridges of Italian Val Ferret. After this you will follow so called Purist route to Zermatt.
Option we have 4 days trip this is about 40km and plus 2000m vertical meters per day.
Or 5 day trip where you have 2 shorter days in between around 25km and less than 2000m vertical. Perfect way to enjoy mountain views.
